St. Louis has finally done it....24 years after their last title we now have the right to say we're world champions! Good job boys!!!
My friends from work and I actually went out and watched the game at Pujols 5 at Westport and that place was crazy but so much fun! Besides being at the game, I don't think there was a better place to be last night. I couldn't pull another 2 am dancing spree this time so I left when the game was over. It was a great night in St. Louis that is for sure!
In other news, I met with my boss this week and had my annual review. It turned out to be an excellent review and both he and the President of the company gave me a lot of positive feedback on my past 15 months at the company. I ended up getting a raise and I definitely am pleased with it! Plus, my boss has even allowed me to decide where I want to go from here...pretty much I can name the duties I want to take on and drop and he's willing to work with me on all of it. When it comes to that, I definitely want to see and learn more of the Operations side of our firm and hopefully he will eventually let me go to Laredo and work on some accounting/billing/administrative issues with the terminal down there. I'm not holding my breath for that one right now though! For some reason, he and pretty much everyone else in management thinks I'm going to get myself in trouble down there....imagine that....me in trouble down in Laredo....I think not!!! ;)
Anyway, my weekend is just getting started and I'm off to have some fun. Not sure what I'm up to yet but I'm sure I will find something to keep me busy. I probably should take it easy this weekend for a change, but we'll see!

Annual review....
There's not too much going on right now, but I had a few minutes and well I decided to post. I have my annual review with my boss tomorrow. In fact, he's taking me out to lunch to talk about this past year and my future at the company. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time and hopefully things turn out well for me. I can't take anything else in my life changing on me right now that's for darn sure!!! Wish me luck!
I'm getting ready to drive down to SoCo to pick up a book from Josh as well. Since he's going to Ft. Campbell for the weekend for Guard training, I figured I would be nice for a change and help him with research for one of his classes, but I need the book before I can do that. I'm glad I get to see him too, even if it is just for a few minutes tonight! It's been a little over a month and I do miss him dearly. Maybe one of these days we'll actually get to spend a weekend together again!
I'm so jealous right now too. A friend of mine went to game 3 of the World Series tonight. No fair! I'd love to be at that game. I've never been to a World Series game before. GO CARDINALS!!!

You'll never believe what I did....
After standing firm and telling quite a few of my friends that they would never catch me on myspace.....I got a myspace account. Who knew how much fun it would be to find people and see what kind of stuff they have been up to since high school or college, etc. Plus, I met new friends as well. I guess I'm hooked now...or at least until things start picking up so much that I can't even find the time check my email. (This is what it was like a few weeks ago.)
In any case, feel free to check it out: http://www.myspace.com/linzee0129 and if you have a myspace page add me.
So since things have settled a bit for me, I've decided to take the little bit of extra time I have and either go out and watch the Cardinals games or just dance the night away. It's been a lot of fun. Last Friday I went to Westport and watched the game at Pujols 5 and then went dancing at America's Pub. The group from work that I came with decided to make it an early night so I stayed at danced with a few guys who are the friends of some of my friends. Really sweet guys if I say so myself. They looked out after me most of the night and made sure that nothing happened. What made it even better though was that they could dance....and definitely the way to win my heart over is for a guy to know how to dance (well that, and being able to sing almost all of Baby Got Back by Sir-Mix-Alot...of which they could do that too!) So the boys got bonus points from me. I ended up leaving about 2 am and I was exhausted...although I definitely wanted to party still but I came home so I could get ready for my weekend.
Saturday and Sunday were jam-packed with a Blues game and Rams game and watching the Cardinals play and showing Tom around St. Louis again. Blues and Cardinals won on Saturday and then the Rams and Cardinals lost on Sunday, but it still was a good weekend for sports in St. Louis.
Tuesday, M and I headed up to Brewskeez to watch the Cardinals game and actually saw another win. It was a lot of fun even if it was just the two of us and the Cards won which made it even better. And finally, tonight...we're going to Parties at the Plaza and probably watching game 7 of the NLCS somewhere at 7 tonight. It's do or die for our boys tonight. I'm sure the bars at Westport will be packed...but it will definitely be fun.
Anyway, I'm off to work. The owner is in today so it should be quite the day!

Another one bites the dust....
Another week come and gone and I don't have a whole lot to show for it. It seems like the days just keep flying by. Last Friday I had month-end close at work and it was the end of the 3rd quarter -- everything went smooth but I still had to work for about 4 hours on Saturday to work on billing and accounting procedures for our Operations department. Really...it wasn't that big of a deal but working the extra hours really cuts into the time I have for other errands and projects I should be working on in my personal life, but I felt it was my duty after the meeting I had with my boss on Friday afternoon.
Right before the end of the day, my boss called me into his office and let me know that he and the President of the company were working on my annual review and that if I had any concerns beforehand to bring them to his attention, so I explained a little bit about the complications involved with my job. He agreed with the items I mentioned and told me that I was doing a great job and to keep pushing because things were moving in the right direction and that I should be very happy with the results of my hard work. I am very excited to meet with both my boss and the President of the company and I hope they see that I'm in it for the long haul.
As for Sunday...I went on a good ol' fashioned road trip with the fam down to Sikeston. We went to the home of the throwed roll, Lambert's. The food was absolutely delicious and it was a nice drive throughout Southern Missouri. Sikeston is close to C-town so I decided to show my mom, step-dad and grandma the terminal for the company I work for. Also, I didn't want them to think that I was lying all of the times I told them I was going out of town for business. (That's a joke people! They know it was all business related....even with the trips to the drive-thru liquor store!) I actually drove them through C-town and pointed out the drive-thru liquor store and the Comfort Inn (our choice of hotels!) to them as well. I know they weren't too excited about it, but even though I dreaded going down to C-town last December, it brings back a lot of memories to me that I will always cherish!
Anyway, on the way home we stopped in Cape but I missed seeing Josh. Not sure what he was up to for the weekend and I was really hoping that he would be free to go with us to Lambert's but it just didn't work out. Oh well, I guess if we decide to take another road trip, I should plan everything out a little ahead of time, so perhaps we will be able to see one another. I'm thinking about a visit to a winery....I haven't been to one since before I turned 21 and that was just no fun!
Other than that, I've just been home reading after extremely long days at work. I read a book on General Ulysses S. Grant this past week and I must say it enhanced my appreciation for him. St. Louis is known for having Grant's Farm but I really didn't understand why...and now I do. I love being an intellectual now that it's not required for school. Plus, I can show off with all of the little tidbits of information...I'm sure everyone is impressed!!! HA!
Anyway, tomorrow I'm going back into work for a few hours in the morning then trying to take care of every other thing I've put off the last few months in the rest of the time I have off from work....should be fun!
